Worse Movers Ever

I would recommend you try to move move yourself before hiring these clowns. I have moved several times over the past 10 years and this was the absolute worst moving expereince. First of all we received a quote for our move and it was estimated at $3,700 and we agreed to it. When the movers came and packed up the truck, the price changed from $3,700 to $5,700. I was in complete shock. They mentioned a number of reasons for the price increase which didn't make any sense to me. The estimate they give you is just to get you in the door. Remember, the sales person is only trying to get you to sign on. Next, the actual move was horrible. I could have found better moving guys on a parking lot by lowes. They broke the leg on one of our dressers and they just said file a claim. Next, they drilled holes through our diningroom table when they were putting it back together. We filed a claim and there is some fine print in the contract about the replacement costs when they cause damage. Our table costs $1,500 dollars and they only offered us $60 based on the weight of the table. This was a complete joke. I know this is a long note but do not go anywhere near this company.

Do yourself a favor, find another mover.

My experience with this company is very much the same as the previous review by Matthew Shannon. The guys who came out to pack and load our stuff was phenomenal and we tipped them very generously for the job well done. That's where their great service ended!

This company will tell you that your move will be handled by their own employees, from origination to destination. That's a big lie and don't believe anything they tell you. True, the guys who came out and pack our stuff were their employees. The guys who delivered them were some guys from Florida driving a truck with no marking so we had no idea who they actually work for.

Our stuff was picked up on 6/30/18 and it took more than a month when we finally have them delivered on 8/2/18. About a week before pick up their dispatcher will call you and go over the move process and advise that it will take 7-14 business days from the date you're available to accept delivery. On the day of pickup the foreman will ask you again what your first available pick up date will be and you're then advised that it will take up to 21 business days from that date when you're first available. This is very confusing because it's completely different from what their dispatcher tell you when they call.

On delivery day 2 local hands showed up in their own vehicle, the truck arrived about 15 minutes later for delivery. We felt happy and relieved that after waiting for more than a month our belongings finally arrived. This feeling is short-lived because the guys who brought in our stuff and put together our furniture were terrible, all they care about was to get it done as fast as possible so they can get on the road. They left so fast we didn't have enough time to inspect the furniture for damage and proper assembly so we found out after they've left that most of the furniture had damages and weren't put together right. Our king platform bed had screws missing, support legs unattched and laying on the floor beneath the bed. Our antique altar table had multiple cracks, our work desk had deep gashes on the surface and scratches along the edge, our king bed had a rip on the side, our dining table was wobbly due to screws not being tightened enough, etc.

About 10 minutes after they've left I called the dispatcher and explained the problems and asked her to contact the truck driver and have them come back. The truck driver called me and basically was screaming on the phone saying that there was nothing more they could do, that everything was put back together correctly, that the screws were stripped but they were put back where they belong. I told him that was a lie and said if he turn around I can show him the results of their sloppy, lazy, unethical work. The driver hung up on me. Seems to me they contracted out my move a couple of thugs from Florida who couldn't care less about their customers. As a result of their sloppiness I had to spend 1/2 day going to Home Depot to obtain the missing screws in order to properly secure our king platform bed. It will cost me another few days to file a claim for all the damages to our furniture.

I personally don't think Champions care much about their reputation and I will make sure this review is posted here and every other moving sites I can find, along with the BBB. Companies like these do not deserve another customer.

Very Pleased.

The communication was smooth as they gave me a quote, and moved me as soon as I needed them. I managed to snag a little bit of savings by talking to Lauren who is such a wonderful representative for the business. Will move with them again, but hopefully not soon because it's exhausting to move!

No attempt to resolve the issues!

Not only did Champion movers/Winston Romo not complete my schedule move, they also left my apartment in complete shambles and lied about their willingness to complete the job! They left behind at least 50+ items and wanted more money just to talk about a resolution.Their exact text response to me after asking to talk about the issue was (NOOO!) refusing to mediate-refusing to talk and demanding more money was the only route they would consider. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB,FMCSA,and DMV. Champion movers/Winston Romo refused to address my issue one on one, I only wanted them to finish the job they promised to do. After sending them pictures and almost pleading for help- they turned a blind eye! If I can protect the next person or family experiencing these unsavory business dealing by champion movers/Winston Romo I feel it is my duty.

Long-distance move from Venice, CA to Miami Beach, FL

Stay Away From This Company!

This was THE worst experience I have ever had with a company bar none!
The guys that came to pick up my items were great after that I have nothing good to say unfortunately!
They told me 14 days for delivery which is one of the main reasons I went with them since they were not the cheapest option. "We are professionals not middle men". After 2 weeks I called to see where my positions where and if they had a delivery date for me yet. No-one seemed to know where exactly me positions where and could not tell me when the delivery was going to be.
30 days later they finally managed to figure our a delivery date so I had lived in my apartment for 2 weeks with NOTHING!
Then comes the payment..my company was paying for the move and this should have been simple however they couldn't seem to figure our how to bill them instead of me and ended up calling me at 10pm on Friday night the day before my delivery to tell me if I did not pay the final balance over the phone immediately I would not receive my delivery the next day. So I was forced to use my credit card to pay them.
Then comes delivery day. The driver was 2 hours late and exceptionally rude. the came in with papers that he had me sign and said "I've been calling you!" which was not true. Then he left and I never saw him again. Then 2 different guys, no uniforms or anything start moving my stuff in. The first thing the strange man with all my belongings says is "You're gunna tip us right?" To which I told him I already paid one the phone the night before and there was a service charge. HE was not happy with that and said that's for the driver not us. The continued to move my items. I paid for unpacking of the larger items and furniture assembly. The did none of that and when I asked them to, the man took the headboard into the bedroom and while trying to cut the tap stuck his knife into the fabric head board. The also dropped all my plates and smashed almost all of them, their open back truck in Florida was not a controlled environment as promised by the company so my candles were all melted to liquid. The even delivered a box which had my books in it open top and bottom with a few bits of paper left inside. I was a 28 year old woman alone with these 2 men while they moved my belongings, they made me uneasy and upset in my new home and basically damaged or destroyed all of my belongings and then followed me down stairs to the ATM so I had to tip them. Their tuck was outside old and rusted and one was drinking while he waited.
I called the company immediately and the lady that answered was very helpful and apologetic but that's as far as I got. The claim company was a joke, all my larger items that were damaged some how managed to get excluded from the compensation, it took a year for them to send me a check for $184.00 for all my damages. I paid for a service I did not get and was never reimbursed for this and they have stopped answering my calls and emails. I have been in contact with them over the year constantly and no-one was willing to help me and now they have completely stopped answering. I was promised that once the claim company settled their amount then Champion would add money to that amount since I clearly did not get a professional service or what I paid for and this was such a bad experience. This never happened!
Every box they delivered was damaged, every piece of furniture damages, they lost all my book and the service is disgusting.

Long-distance move from Las Vegas, NV to Gulfport, MS

This is the absolute worst lying company.

I still have no furniture after 48 days, these people I can't say enough bad about them, they have ticked me off and ripped me off, inflated their bid, took advantage and will bleed every dollar they can. then the only 5 star is their manager in dispatch to deceive you even further, read about Tonya Everson and then call them, anything to get a haul by deception. These people need a good lawsuit, and I'm the one to teach them a lesson

They lie about delivery dates, they don't answer their phone and all they can say is read your contract, Fraud nothing but fraud.

Worst moving company ever.

They quoted me one price, and I ended up paying almost double. I had thrown things OUT since the quote, so I can't imagine what they would have charged. They charged me 28 dollars for cardboard boxes, that they then used 3 to wrap a painting in. Three boxes!! They were very vauge on the terms, and what they told me verbally and what was on the contract was very different. Do not trust this company!! They will not even explain the pricing or let you see the contract until the truck is loaded up, and they are holding your stuff hostage. Read every line carefully!!

Long-distance move from California to Washington

Move CA to WA.

Move late June from Tujunga, CA to Vancouver, WA:

Pickup was scheduled in early June for June 28-29. I was contacted June 26th and told pickup would be on 29th.

DELAYS - On the 27th Champion delays move to the 30th causing difficulties on my side.
• After loading, movers asked for a delivery date request which I gave July 3 and they advised would also be the ones delivering my things to Vancouver.
• Actual delivery did not happen until July 11, and Champion used a third party mover to make the delivery (I was never advised they would use third party mover).

DAMAGE - 3 Dressers were delivered damaged (casters snapped off and lower trim damaged) and mattress has abrasion marks. Boxes in general were in rough shape, probably due to multiple loadings/un-loadings.

MISSING ITEMS - I find 5 boxes are missing and not accounted for, and attempted to notify Champion on July 12th.
• Called Champion on multiple occasions since July 12th with no follow up from Champion’s customer service to my calls.
• Finally connect to Champion on 16th. I was assured by customer service they would check with the movers/storage warehouse and get back to me.
• No reply to date except for a response to my follow-up email stating they are “still looking” (…and that’s the last I heard from them).

SUMMED UP - I have made several long distance moves in the past without issues. Maybe Champion is OK to handle local moves, but for long distance moves I recommend they be avoided.

Long-distance move from Yuma, AZ to Apple Valley, CA

A company to stay away from.

Let me assure you that what I have written are the facts that took place and our interpretation. We moved from a single story home in Yuma to a two story town home in Minnesota.

Just like many others we searched the internet to find the most cost effective means to move from Yuma Arizona to Apple Valley Minnesota. We found Champion Movers to be one of the cheapest listed.

We asked that they be at our home in Yuma on 06/22/2017 to pack up and move us out. Champion never sent anyone out for a pre-inspection prior to the 22nd. At the end of the packing of our household goods, the driver claimed we had over 7,000 pounds and the cost to move this would be over $900.00 additional to what was estimated. The driver gave us two choices, sign off on his estimate or take a chance that it may turn out much higher after the weight is checked and pay even more. I refused to sign off on his estimate and told them I would wait until the truck is weighed and go with that. I was right to wait otherwise it would have cost that additional $900.00.

Champion movers asked for a delivery date at which time we requested 07/03/2017. The delivery driver did not arrive until 07/16/2017, 13 days later.

As the driver and his assistant brought items into the house we found items that were broken to include the glass on our curio cabinet. When we informed the driver of the damage to our items, the driver took out a document they use to add additional charges to the customs for the use of stairs and/or an elevator. With this document in his hands his words to use were “I could be a d** and charge you for this”. So we had to keep quiet about any damages they did.

Later while bringing in some larger items like a dresser, the driver wanted to use the elevator and asked my wife to show him how to get to the elevator. As my wife and the driver were walking around to the elevator the driver again used that same document to tell her that he could charge us an additional $620.00 dollars. When my wife asked if he planned to charge us that amount, the driver told her “no, but I would appreciate a very nice tip at the end”. When my wife got back inside the house, she immediately told myself, my son, and his girlfriend of the conversation that took place between her and the driver. At this point we felt that we had no choice but to pay a very nice tip to the driver to keep from being charged the additional $620.00, this is called “Extortion” and is an illegal activity, a felony.

To make sure we were covering this illegal activity I recorded the driver taking a $200.00 dollar tip from me and ensuring he would not charge us the additional $620.00. We also complained to him about the grease they brought in and the damage to the carpet with grease marks throughout the house.

I then contacted Champion Movers and spoke with the manager “Tonya”. I informed her of everything that had taken place and shew told me she would immediately talk to the owner. I tried for several days afterwards to get an answer from the owner, through Tonya but failed. Finally after a week of calling, Tonya informed me that she had spoken to the owner and that the bottom line was, they were backing the driver.

Since then I have spoken with our attorney who has given us a couple ways to handle all this and we are following her advice.

I would say that everyone stay away from this company as they will try their best to rip you off.

Long-distance move from Delta, UT to Morgantown, WV

Terrible Company.

The company was great at the start getting everything set up. The guys that came and packed up the truck were excellent. Unfortunately it went downhill after that. Due to the circumstances of my move my stuff had to be warehoused instead of a direct move to the new location. Once I was able to set up the delivery, it took 5 additional weeks for them to actually bring it to me. When it finally did come several boxes had some damage on the outside, some of the drinking glasses were broken (even though they were filled with foam peanuts, wrapped in bubble wrap, and the entire box was itself was filled with foam peanuts and said fragile on the outside), and they had completely lost one of my items. Their customer service was terrible as well. Every time I called them about something and the person I needed to actually talk to was unavailable, they told me that they would have the person call me back - never once did the person actually call me back, I always had to keep calling them. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
